Un habit / a coat

J'ai fait pour mon chant un habit
Couvert de broderies
Prises aux vieilles mythologies
Des pieds jusqu'aux épaules;
Mais les sots me l'ont pris
Et s'en sont vêtus aux yeux du monde
Comme s'il était leur propre habit.
Laisse-le leur ô, mon chant,
Car il y a plus de courage
À marcher dévêtu.
